The challenge
A multi-day fan event tied to a global live entertainment event needed to sell tickets in a short pre-event window. The client's in-house paid media was basic, and the budget had to work hard.
Our approach
Dynamic radius targeting. We narrowed the radius around the venue as the event got closer, ending at 25 miles.
Rich ad assets. We used 10 headlines, 4 descriptions, 2 sitelinks and 3 callouts.
Staged bidding. We moved from Manual CPC to Enhanced CPC to Maximize Conversion Value, with a Target ROAS of 953.209%.
Deliberate scaling. Daily spend grew from $100 to $600. The overall budget was trimmed from $9,000 to about $6,000.
Keyword refinement. We started with 54 exact, 71 phrase and 54 broad keywords and refined to 79 broad, while trimming negatives from 77 to 69.
The results
ROAS 4,120.95%, peaking at 9,112.01% on a single day.
1,681.22 conversions. CPA fell from $14.36 to as low as $3.25, averaging $3.77.
CPC fell from $1.44 to $0.42. The campaign drew 40,776 impressions, with a peak of 1,625 clicks in a day.
The core buyers were aged 35–44, and 80.62% of conversion value came from male users.
FAQ
How can ROAS be this high on a small budget? Tight radius targeting and bidding on value reached fans who were ready to buy, so very little spend was wasted.
Why change the bidding strategy mid-flight? Manual CPC controlled costs while data built up, and value-based bidding scaled once the data was there.
Does this work for other live events? The playbook is the same for any time-bound event. See event ticketing.
